GRADING REPORT

10th October Gillingham, Kent

I would like to start by saying how pleased I was with all our performers at the event. Fortunately we have plenty of help on the competition floor, so nobody got neglected!

U13G regional G

Isabelle Jennings (who had to arrive late in the afternoon) being in the last flight of this group of 61 girls, made a great impression on the judges and scored 48.90! With this magnificient score it means she will “leapfrog” a grade and will be able to enter grade E. I am sure she will enjoy the challenge of a new routine at last!

U19G regional E

Jenny Roberts and Immy Knibbs did a good job, although Immy was disappointed with her set routine as her “warm up” was better.   Jenny finished 2nd but missed grading up by .2 and Immy finished 8th out of the field of 16.

U15 B regional D

Edward Weeden, with his “usual competitors head on” performed very well, having leapfrogged up to D grade at the last competition. Although Edward only had one other competitor, his goal was to make National C grade after the first 2 rounds. He achieved this easily with a score of 51.5 (which automatically qualified him for National qualifying events next year). After his third routine, (there are always finals for D grade) he came 1st with a score of 79.30. Well done Ed

U13G Regional E

Emily Mills, Emma Richardson and Suzanne Chester made up one of our two teams of the day. They easily walked away with the gold medal out of the 18 competitors and Emily managed to grade up and take 2nd place. Emma came joint 3rd, but on countback, was placed 4th, but still managed to grade up. Suzanne was unlucky on this occasion and did not grade up but finished a creditable 7th position out of 18.

U15G Regional G

Hannah Milbourn and Georgina Welton were both is this field of 24 competitors.   Georgina got through both routines and Hannah managed a very good voluntary routine which shot her into 2nd place. Hannah also achieved a very easy grade up to the next level with a score of 47.80.

U15G Regional E

As usual, Emily Tyson put in two solid routines.   She was placed 3rd after the two rounds and gained yet another trophy!

U13G Regional F

This was the first competition for Emily Chambers-Rolfe (coming up from the club competitions level) and after initial nerves at the venue and amount of people she got through 2 routines. Phoebe Daniel, who was also in this group with Emily finished in 6th place and narrowly missed grading up by .2!

U15G Regional F

Emily Gaunt was our only competitor in this field. She finished in 6th place out of a group of 15.

U19G Regional G

Rachel Grimstone had an exceptional day putting in the best voluntary routine, I have ever seen her do!   Laura Everton was hot on her heels with two good routines, closely followed by team mates Nicole Shipman and Lucy Hope.   Both Rachel and Laura finshed 1st and 2nd respectively, both graded up to the next level for their efforts. Nicole ended up in 9th position and Lucy in 16th.   As the only other team we fielded for that day, they walked away with the gold medal.

U19B Regional G

Tom Holmes put in a good effort. For this, he came 2nd, but narrowly missed grading up.   Better luck next time!

U19G Regional D

Tasha Jardine (struggling with shin splints) put in a brave effort, but was having pain in the leg during all her routines.   She finished in 6th place, but managed to complete her final routine. Well done!

U13B Regional G

Another notable performance today was from Tim Stevens.   He put in two solid routines and for his efforts came out with 1st place and a grading up score to the next level!

I would just like to thank all the performers for their efforts and helping to remind me, why I enjoy running the club so much!   Thanks again to all the coaches/officials, without whom we could not enter the event.   A great day for the club!
