CLUB I – FIG B COMPETITION RESULTS

At todays club competition, we had an excellent performance from those that attended.
 
In the category I/H – the winner was Travis Coles, but some very good performances were put in by Beth Chalcraft (in her first competition). Heidi and Emma also did very well.
 
Regional F – was a close category with good performances from Hannah Milbourn, Emily Gaunt and Nicole Shipman. Emily Gaunt went on to win the category.
 
Regional E saw Suzanne Chester win, closely followed by Laura Everton and Gemma Osborne.
 
Regional D was won by Emma Richardson who put in two solid routines.
 
National C was a very exciting category with our National performances performing excellent routines and getting ready for next weekend. The winner was eventually Sally Stevens, closely followed by Victoria Bramble. This category was very fiercely fought and bodes well for our entry next week at Hatfield.
 
Fig B saw Sally Stevens guesting and giving Tom and Kirsty a dog fight for the trophy. The category was eventually won by Kirsty Briggs, Tom a very close 2^nd and Sally third.
 
Well done everyone on the good performances.

KNOCKOUT CUP

 
 
In the “knockout” cup, all members taking part had to pit their set routines, no matter how hard, against each other.   After the first round, it started to become very interesting and produced some very consistent form from all competitors, improving each level they progressed. Our eventual winner for plate A was Gemma Osborne, runner up was Suzanne Chester. Plate B went to Vicky Bramble with runner up Laura Everton. There were some notable routines from coaches Cat Gibson, and Helen Jolliffe and even Mike Gevaux tried to take on Heidi Harrison but was beaten by her, due to him not remembering the correct routine!
 
This years “Anniversary Cup”, which is given to the best form score of the day, went back home with Kirsty Briggs, finishing with an excellent 25.7.
 
The whole day was most enjoyable and I was very proud of all the club members. Thanks to all the officials who made it possible; Rosemarie (judge), Zach (judge), Cat (Chair), Mike (tariff), Flo (guest recorder), Blane – Video operator, Helen (warm up/comp marshall). Thanks again to Nicola Ager who made lots of delicious cakes (there were none left, so I am guessing they were good).
 
“The whole day was most enjoyable and I was very proud of all the club members. Some excellent progress has been made by all members who I watched today in my capacity as a judge.   It was also good for me to get some practice in today as I will be judging at the National qualifying event next weekend. I was especially pleased for the National C, Fig B performers who will be taking part in next weekend’s Competition in Hatfield, proving that all their hard work is paying off.   Good luck all next week”. – Jacqui Gevaux
